British couple attacked in Kenya- is it still safe to travel there?

Yesterday, the tenth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attack on America was certainly a day for reflection and remembrance; but the tragedy of the occasion was compounded even further for many in Britain and indeed worldwide by the news that a British couple had been attacked while holidaying in Kenya by suspected Somali militants who killed one man and then abducted his wife. Although there has been no connection made between the attack and the commemoration of the New York City and Pentagon bombings the news has come as a horrible shock to a world already only too aware of the frailty...

Wet your tastebuds and the best tables in Europe

In the past I have touched upon the growing association between fine dining and luxury holidays and I suppose it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to be able to appreciate the connection. Antigua, Caribbean playground of the rich and famous

Antigua is perhaps one of the more anonymous luxury holiday destinations within the Caribbean, perhaps when compared to the likes of Barbados, Jamaica or the Bahamas for example; though in my opinion ambiguity breeds exclusivity. Antigua is in fact a twin island nation, with the smaller community of Barbuda...

With this in mind I have been looking at affordable luxury holiday properties and specifically what is on offer for less than £100pppn Caribbean Club, Cayman Islands £96- One of the newest...

A London luxury holiday

After a recent trip down to the capital I was reminded what a wonderful luxury holiday destination London can be. Like any other big city London certainly has its pitfalls; the traffic can be a nightmare, the underground is too hot and everything is that bit more expensive but I think you can forgive it all for that undeniable sense of energy and buzz that is symptomatic of any journey to the city. Few other modern metropolises can boast the kind of culture and history that is on offer within one square mile of London’s bustling boroughs; where gleaming skyscrapers are juxtaposed against classic...
