Bangkok is Thailand’s capital city which is often the first port of call for everyone flying to Southeast Asia. Don Muang International Airport is your first taste of Thailand.

The Wats (temples) are dotted all around the city, each with a wonderful and more dazzling history than the last. Bangkok’s temples are an integral part of the heart and soul of the city. Seeing at least two or three is an absolute must. The street markets in Bangkok are also I sight to behold, from amazing street cuisine to intricate sculpture and artwork. The Pak Khlong farmer’s Market can supply you with your five a day with the most wonderful selection of fresh exotic fruit.

Whilst on Holiday why not take a tuk-tuk around the city see all corners of the city in the popular vehicle of choice, then after a busy day in Bangkok you can take a trip to Phuket for a completely different experience where a Thai massage is often what the doctor ordered.

The Phi Phi Islands are just off the island of Phuket and are definitely a must see. The Phi Phi Islands were the setting for the film “The Beach” about a long lost tropical island community. There’s no CGI here, what you see is the real thing, large islands rising straight from the sea. The best way to see the Phi Phi islands is to hire a boat for the journey, say goodbye to the shore and see some of the world’s most beautiful vistas. A moment to be shared I can guarantee you.

Thai food is now common place throughout the world, sampling the cuisine at its origin is an absolute must. Thai banquets are infamous around Southeast Asia with Gaeng khiew-waan (Green Curry) being at the top of the menu. Tom yam Kung is also an exceptional dish with fresh ingredients and the freshest seafood it’s the perfect end to day of sun bathing and sight seeing. Thai street food is also in abundance throughout Thailand, no more so than in Chiang Mai the largest city in Northern Thailand it boasts a selection of some of the finest silks and jewels in the world. With over 300 temples in the surrounding area, rent a tandem bicycle and go off exploring a city that has its history dating back almost 900 years. This blend of old and new gives you the opportunity to reap the benefits of both. The historical importance as a trade route cannot go unnoticed when walking through the city, a stop off point next to the Ping River gave merchants the chance  to recoup their energy as well as trade with others on their way. This hub of activity is still here 800 years on. Take a tuk-tuk round Chiang Mai’s renowned Sunday evening market and experience the trade scene yourself. Here you will understand what all the fuss is about, from the finest street food and beautiful ornate jewellery. Choose who’s going to do the bartering.

Koh  Chang is another twist in Thailand’s story, in June 2000 the town had paved roads and electricity for the first time.

Koh Chang is the second largest Island in Thailand. Koh Chang translates to Elephant Island and is distinctly quieter that Bangkok and other Thai islands such as Phuket which is attributed to its lack of high development compared to other regions. The island is teeming with wildlife amidst jungle surroundings in the middle and a white glistening beach surrounding it. Why not take the opportunity to bathe a group of Asian Elephants in the morning and relax on the beach in the afternoon reminiscing over your morning of hard work.
